From the beginning with Elke Griffey, Salon Owner, through our founders Jack Griffey and Cecil Miller and now their sons Steve and Austin, representing our new generation of family ownership, we have been committed to providing a salon ownership experience like no other. From our full-time Concierge Manager to our premium build-outs and finishes, we strive to provide an extraordinary experience for our salon professionals and their clients. We look for talented beauty and wellness professionals determined to build their businesses, grow their clientele, and provide exceptional service. We’re founded by innovative entrepreneurs serving entrepreneurs—which is why we attract a culture of committed salon owners who want to help each other in every location of our salon communities.

About Us
Realizing the Dream of a Better Salon Experience
Salons by JC was founded in 1997 by Jack Griffey & Cecil Miller. Jack’s wife, Elke, who worked as a hairstylist, went to work one day and the salon was shut down without notice. While Elke was looking for another job, Jack and Cecil took the concept where you lease individual suites to multiple salons and beauty industry professionals, and so, Salons by JC was born.
Jack and Cecil opened the first SBJC location in Dallas, Texas, with a commitment to ongoing premium service via a full-time Concierge and empowering salon owners to start their businesses. Although Jack is now semi-retired, and Cecil passed away in 2020, we continue the family-owned legacy with a new generation of leadership from Jack’s Son, Steve Griffey who is President, and Cecil’s son, Austin Miller who is VP of Corporate Operations. Today SBJC has over 150 locations nationwide and serves 4,000+ salon owners and continues to grow everyday!
